A girls club skit boys club quartet provide entertainment and 1947 achievements will be recognized. 4 H boys will elect new officers Tickets cost 1 dollar and must be picked up at the Farm Bureau office by Saturday November one.
Mrs L W Moret hosted a Monday birthday party for Leona Van Maanen with games and a luncheon. Mr and Mrs Sienus Smid welcome a son Carl Edward born Oct 22 weighing 6 34 pounds and with two brothers. Mrs Smid was Margaret Jean Miller. Denver couple Mr and Mrs Tom Smith greet their first child a daughter Maureen Ella born Oct 18 weighing 7 1 2 pounds. Mrs Smith is Ella Arlene Rensink, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Rensink.

Miss Joan Berendena Brinks daughter of Mr and Mrs George Brinks wed Andrew Wolthuizen son of Mr and Mrs Klaas Wolthuizen in a Friday afternoon ceremony at the First Reformed Church parsonage Sheldon Rev Jean Vis officiated The reception for 150 relatives and friends was at the Sheldon community building The couple will live on a farm near Sheldon The bride wore a gray gabar dine suit with pink and white flowers in her corsage The ceremony featured a double ring and service by Rev Vis The wedding party included relatives from the Brinks and Wolthuizen families with music by local dancers and a toast by Rev C Postma The bride’s colors were pink and white and a luncheon followed.

State by state goals target Minnesota 1 490 000 North Dakota 1 550 000 Montana 178 000 Iowa 80 000 Wisconsin 15 000 and South Dakota 640 000 acres.

The Iowa State Conservation Commission sets the 1947 pheasant season from November 11 to 20 with record low bag limits. Four hours daily shooting from 12:00 to 4:00 pm, two cock birds per day and possession, and 64 counties opened. Populations down 35 percent from 1946, yet roosters still harvestable. Sioux, O'Brien, Lyon, Osceola and others in the area open.
