The Sioux County Chapter of the American Red Cross presents its financial report from organization through June 30 1919 with receipts totaling 115410.88 and disbursements 64168.14 showing a cash balance of 51242.74 plus branch receivables. An audit by the American Red Cross committee notes a surplus balance and cites outstanding checks totaling 396.75 over the reported balance.
Iowa begins a drive to raise 200000 for a Roosevelt Memorial in Washington and to buy Sagamore Hill as a national shrine. Polk County quickly met its 10770 quota. campaign dates extend as organization lags in other counties. Local leaders: Charles H. McNider and Henry G Wallace.
