The annual Boy Scout Finance drive targets a 12000 dollar quota with kickoffs across 17 communities in the Floyd Valley and Buffalo districts. Local chairmen and captains will canvass towns and rural areas as part of a state wide campaign led by Rev. Leroy Nattress and Cliff Meyler J. Funds are overseen by a 50 member executive board of regional farmers and businessmen, with virtually all funds kept in Prairie Gold Area to support camps property salaries program materials and Cub Scout expansion.

The Rock Valley male quartet will sing a sacred program at the First Reformed church Sunday evening October 25 at 8 00 under the Ladies Aid and Mission Society. A free will offering will be taken and the public is invited.

District finance chairmen stress meeting quotas to expand Scouting facilities over the next years to absorb hundreds of thousands of boys who were war babies. Rev. Nattress and Mr Meyler urge cooperation and active support for local Boy Scout troops and the boys in them.
The Legion Auxiliary gathered Monday evening above the lumber yard with twenty three members present. Four new members joined: Mrs Mackie Mrs Hall Mrs John Bernisse and Mrs Vernon Kooiker. The program covered Constitution By Laws by Elizabeth Koole and Membership by Mina Goodyear. Poppies ordered total now 1100. Lunch planned after Armistice program. Hostesses Mildred Blumeyer and Nelvina Diekevers provided a delicious lunch.
The State Conservation Commission urges Iowa motorists to slow and be vigilant as deer enter breeding season with more movement at dusk and night. In Pottawattamie County, 19 car deer crashes occurred in May, with five more in the first week of October, prompting cautions on river roads and timbered areas statewide.

Pvt Marvin D. Bomgaars of Company A 1st Tech Training Battalion at Aberdeen Proving Grounds Maryland and Pvt Alvin J. Klein of Company R and M 66th Signal Battalion Corps at Fort Bragg North Carolina are listed with service numbers.
