Forty from Boyden join burial association
A town hall meeting in Boyden drew about seventy five men as forty joined the Sioux Center Burial Association. Ralph Bartels spoke for the association, H W Wesselink attended, H M Scholten was elected chairman, Albert Grooters secretary, and a membership committee including G Bosman G Vander Bosch and R Kamminga was named. The lifetime fee is 5 dollars and refundable if the member moves away. The local group will join the larger Sioux Center organization once hundred members are reached.

Boyden Man Fends Off Attempted Hold Up
Fred Lohof of Boyden, ex-manager of Warmers Elevator, repelled two robbers who stopped his car near a Clay county farm west of Spencer. A second auto struck his rear, then the men demanded money. Lohof, with a crank in hand, forced them back, and he drove to Spencer to seek help. He saw them later but officers could not locate them. He could only offer a vague description due to darkness. The incident is linked to a subsequent hold up of Mr Metty.

School House Sells Well in Sheridan Township Auction
The old school house in district No 4 Sheridan township sold last week to Mr Dick Huisenveld with one out building for 202.00. Another out building sold for 26.00 and a coal shed for 20.50. Officers call the sale a success and are satisfied.
