Happenings At the Court House

Marriage licenses issued include Leroy J. Van Kley to Rosella Van de Weerd and Arthur Kluter to Fern Steinfadt. The last will of Bernard P. Gasper was filed for probate with an 11 13 hearing. Executors appointed include Walter Bolks and Fred Pulman. The case of Blom vs Slaton involved a $50 000 counter claim after a fatal June 26, 1956 collision on Highway 33 near Hospe, Iowa. The estate of Kryn Schuller closed and others were appointed executors or approved deeds. Six Reformed Churches plan a four day mission conference October 21 to 24. The Youth Fellowship hosted a wiener roast at the Doorenbos home.

Chemical Kill of Rough Fish in Des Moines River Experiment

State fisheries biologists and crews killed tons of rough fish in two north Iowa areas using rotenone in September. A 10 mile Des Moines River stretch north of Humboldt was treated to eliminate rough fish before stocking game species. In Storm Lake, planes sprayed rotenone to target young gizzard shad, aiming to protect game fish.

Invitation to Boys 4 H Club Work

Those at a birthday party at the Wilbur Vander Tuig home in Sheldon Saturday evening included Mr and Mrs Henry Bosman and Margo, Mr and Mrs Glen Blankers and daughter, and Mr and Mrs Larry Salmon and family. Free public photo day for children at the Reporter

The Sioux County chorus resumes practice for a Messiah rendition. Rehearsals are Saturdays at 8 PM in Hull Public School and Sundays at 4 PM at Sioux Center. All singers are welcome to join.
