The American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Monday October 28 due to Missionary Meetings at the First Reformed Church. Mrs Siem Schortinghuis of Sheldon will show 35 mm slides of a 1956 European trip. Mrs Milton Mackie and Mrs Glenn Blankers will present a program on United Nations Day. Hostesses are Mrs George Riemers and Mrs George Horn.

Western League Friday Bowling Results

Co op Oil led Friday play with 27 points while Co op Elevator and McCurdy Seed followed. Pioneer Seed beat Rensink Insurance 4 0 and Co op Oil defeated Steckley Seed 4 0. High games saw Al Vroonland 200 and Pete Lietstra 192. Vroonland led with a 534 series while Doorenbos had 512. Team best was Co op Elevator with 708, and Pioneer Seed second at 693. Elevator also had top team series at 1985 with McCurdy Seed close behind at 1980.

New Train Time Begins Sunday October 27 Illinois Change

Daylight saving time ends in Illinois and the Milwaukee train adopts a later arrival in Boyden at 11 20 a m starting Sunday October 27 1957. The evening train retains its 5 50 p m arrival following a September 29 change.

Den No 1 at Arlo Zimmerman home leads with flag ceremony and Living Circle. Cub scouts make Halloween paper sack masks while planning costumes for October Pack Meeting. Lunch by Brian Zimmerman followed by relay races. Den No 2 at Peter Vis home conducts pledge, roll call, masks, and lunch by Ronnie Engelsman. Miracle In Manhattan at Sheldon Premiere

The film Miracle in Manhattan recounts Billy Graham’s New York Crusade with Jinx Falkenburg and Tex McCary presenting a New York tour and Madison Square Garden opening night. It features George Beverly Shea, Cliff Barrows, and a Times Square finale with Rev. Edstrom headlining.
