Iowa aims for a 1948 49 enrollment of 45 000 members matching a hundred percent rise since the 1943 low. War reduced the 4-H rolls to 22 392 then and growth resumed from 1924, with an all time peak around 40 000 in 1948. Sioux County 4-H leaders were guests at a banquet in Sioux Center last Wednesday. Miss Julia Fakinson spoke on 4-H privileges and responsibilities. Leaders elected county 4-H committees for one and two year terms, naming several chairpersons and members.
Mr and Mrs Connie Brunst called on business in Spencer with daughter Ella Ruby. Mr Henry Bosman attended a Farm Bureau Organization Meeting at Storm Lake on Wednesday.
T C Green new State Department Supervisor and Chas Tye County Superintendent visited Boyden Public School on Tuesday afternoon Oct. 12. Green succeeds W H McFarland who died last July. Both officials report a fine school start and hope it continues through the year.

A streamlined 42 ft x ray unit will tour Sioux County high schools from October 15 to 20 under the Sioux County Tuberculosis Association. Miss Joy Harmon leads the program with permission from parents and family physicians required before screening.
