Barn Burns on Wm J Moret Farm
Early Saturday a fire destroyed the barn on the Wm J Moret farm located east of the homestead. Roy and Mrs Reimers woke the sleeping Moret family. the Boyden fire department aided but could not stop the blaze. About 1500 bales of hay, 400 bales of straw, one lamb, several chickens, and the milking machine were lost. The farm, purchased last spring, was insured and rebuilding is planned soon.

Boyden Man Wins Tractor Rodeo With Sioux County Prowess
Bob Dethmers of Sioux County won the tractor driving event at Spencer Tuesday scoring 91.8 points and earning $25. He piloted an Allis Chalmers C through a barrel line and a 9 ft gate in 3 minutes 40 seconds with a perfect high gear run. Several local residents visited and shared notes during the weekend and Sunday.
