Reverend J. M. Acheson recounts a family journey from Boyden to Ainsworth Iowa visiting Emmetsburg Cedar Rapids West Liberty and Morning Sun. He notes crops livestock land prices and local happenings including a funeral and a council session. He mentions greetings to friends and plans for further letters.
Claus Schuett a respected 60 year old German farmer of Sheridan Township died suddenly Wednesday night during a family party at the Mayne home. He collapsed on the floor from heart failure after dancing. Dr Brink declared life extinct. He leaves a widow several children and many friends mourn his loss. Funeral held today.
Tom Kent shows steady improvement as residents enjoy the carnival. Doon native Miss Marie Shoultz worshiped in Rock Valley, while Parker’s P. Anderson was named Road Master from Sanborn to Marion Junction. Various locals, including Hull visitors, Hawarden Band helpers, and others, were noted in city activity at the end of the carnival week.
John Neundhers visited Rock Valley on Sunday. Mr DeYoung and Mrs DeYoung spent Thursday at the Sioux City carnival. Ed DeYoung was a visitor from Orange City on Saturday.
Mr. Boteman made a Sioux Center 1 business visit Friday. C. Perry visited Sioux City Saturday for the carnival. The election heat rises with Vander Wilt and Moret competing for Trustee.
