Wasted money harms lives. every dollar saved should fund War Bonds. Citizens are urged to allocate ten percent from each payday to support the war effort and prevent wasteful spending.
The Women's Citizenship Club will meet Friday afternoon October 9 at the Howard Verrips home with Mrs. Chris Blumeyer as joint hostess. Mrs. Dunnick will lead Roll Call and Prayer. Mrs. Herman Meester will discuss the topic Why did the last Peace fail. Members urged to attend. A report on the district convention in Sibley will be given.
Cast of eleven chosen by Mrs. Roggen after tryouts for upcoming play Mama's Baby Boy. Junior and senior girls in cast with a mix of freshmen and sophomores. several boys from earlier classes included.
Primary and Grade One students discuss bringing interesting books for reading. They enjoyed being read to and making clay cups and animals. Harold and Harriet celebrated birthdays with candy. Pumpkins and owls decorate their room.
The Second Grade Our weekly readers showcased a piece about dogs aiding Uncle Sam and Miss De Jager, illustrating historical and civic themes through simple, student friendly text.
Third grade created wigwams to display an Indian village after reading a story. Fourth grade completed a unit on American Indians and will study Earth and Maps next. Several students earned 100s in spelling and reviews, and a hike with games followed by watermelons at Anona Rensink's home.
