Rev. Niel Stewart and Mr H M Scholten left Tuesday for Clarinda Iowa to attend the Synod of the United Presbyterian Church meeting. They expect to return Thursday or Friday.

Jackie Howard Manderville infant son of Mr and Mrs Merrill Manderville died at home in Sheldon on September 27 age about two months born July 11 funeral held in Sheldon with Rev Neil Stewart burial at Primghar Iowa formerly of Boyden where Mr Manderville worked as a truck driver for Boyden Rendering Works household goods of Mr Carl Hirt to be sold at auction October 8 in an ad elsewhere in the paper
Lambert Van Wyhe eighteen son of Jacob Van Wyhe near Perkins Iowa was fatally injured when the auto he rode in struck a westbound Milwaukee Flyer at the Hull crossing. He is a Hull High School student traveling from home to school when the accident occurred. He suffered a fractured skull and severe injuries to arms legs and body. He was alive at the time the report was filed.
Mr. C. A. DeValois's milking Short-horn herd swept prizes at the Clay County Fair in Spencer Iowa taking first on a three year old bull and first on a three year old cow. He earned six seconds and three thirds amid keen competition. Gilbert Grooters helped care for the cattle. The fair is billed as Iowa's greatest county fair.
The PTA will meet next Wednesday evening in the High School gym. Program includes student attitude paper, Girls and Boys Glee Clubs, a debate, minstrels, humorous reading, chalk talk, and a judges decision. Officers will be elected. Attendance urged. Also brief local notices about fire safety and community news.

The M. J. Brouwer closing out sale held Wednesday drew buyers, with corn selling at 23.00 per acre milch cows up to 130.00 each and horses selling very well. The sale will total over 5000.00 and Brouwer plans to move to Boyden before March 1st.
Carl Hirt owner sells household items at public auction to move to California. Items include walnut bed and dresser, dining set, rugs, kitchen furniture, Getz washer, sewing machine, oil stove, shotgun and rifles, china, books, tools, and more.
