Mr and Mrs Gr Rensink and family moved into their seven room modern brick dwelling in Boyden on Friday. It features a hot water system hardwood interior tile bathroom white enamel kitchen and an attractive exterior likely improved by summer shrubbery and flowers.

Tire Found Reward Return Noted in Orange City Journal

A tire reported missing by W. G. Vanderburg was found by local school children near Carnes and taken to the home of Nicholas C. Spaarda. The finders, reading the Orange City Journal, returned the tire and donated the five dollar reward to the school with Spaarda’s compliments.

Johnson Manufacturing installs Johnsonized folio press

The Johnson Manufacturing Co of St Paul Minnesota installed a Johnsonized folio press in the Reporter office. Erectors Wal fred Johnson and George Gunner from St Paul spent five days on the job. The press on a solid concrete foundation weighs about four tons and tests show it runs vibration free. It replaces the old Potter press and will allow six column pages now and seven column twelve cm pages soon. New machinery including a large jobber an auto caster with monthly mat service and new type chases and column rules will be added, placing the Reporter on par with leading plants in the region.

Pryde Meester Couple Wed at First Presbyterian Church

Ethel Pryde and Herman Meester married on Sunday November 23 1930 at the First Presbyterian church parsonage near George Iowa with Rev Fred Beving officiating Miss Ella Stegeman and Jake Van Diepen witnessed the ceremony Pryde a Boyden high school graduate and former Boyden post office assistant will live with her mother Mrs Clara Pryde Meester works in Boyden post office while Meester works with Brinkman and Schortinghuis in Boyden Produce They plan to reside with Mrs Pryde’s mother and receive well wishes from the community.

Twilight Alley operetta a decided success in Boyden

The operetta Twilight Alley presented by public school grade children under Miss Rogers drew high praise from attendees. Cast included Dame Needy Gertrude Kooy and Angelina the emigrant child, with many neighborhood children and teachers contributing. Notable local notes mention illness of Mrs Henry Backus, purchases and visits, and the WCTU meeting on Friday afternoon.

Comedy Show at Orange City Thanksgiving Event

The Orange City Woman's Federated club sponsors a Thanksgiving three act comedy "Daley" and a three act comedy "Dulcie" in Science Hall at 8:00 PM with doors at 7:00 PM. Admission costs 50c and 25c. Christmas Program To Be Presented At Hall

A Christmas program will be held Monday December 22 at the town hall. It is a community affair with local organizations asked to contribute a number each. Anyone with a number to contribute should notify Mrs Bolstad by December 15 to complete the program for the Reporter.
