Copra Bugs Halt Oakland Stevedoring Amid Oleomargarine Trade
From the Paint Oil and Drug Reporter October 27 1930 a note on copra bugs delaying unloading of two copra boats Pleasantville and Beulah at Oakland California October 6. The insects hatch in heat and complicate copra handling though not economically dangerous. Oleomargarine tax stamp sales fell in September 1929 to 1930 comparing colored and uncolored varieties.

Boyden Transmission Co Dissolved by Mutual Consent
The Boyden Transmission Co dissolved by mutual consent of stockholders after a meeting and sold assets to Town Public Service Co. Formed October 26, 1917 by farmers to build a farm power line and supply electricity. Old lines were costly. transfer aims to benefit all. H. M Scholten was secretary and H. J. Luymes president.

Miniature Golf Course Planned for Boyden Site
Lloyd B. Stutzman of Sioux City will build a nine hole miniature golf course on the lot beside the telephone office in Boyden. The course opens to the public in spring and costs over 1500 dollars for new fixtures. Stutzman already operates an outdoor course in Morningside and is building a nine hole indoor course in Emmetsburg. His cousin Marvin Stutzman has closed his outdoor Rock Rapids course for winter.

Cornie Langstraat becomes new proprietor of the Ritter store after acquiring the business and residence in a trade with Abe VanDriel who now owns 80 acres near Edgerton, Minnesota. Roggen Land Co. of Sheldon arranged the deal and VanDriel plans his next steps.
