Winnebago Indian Choir to Give Sacred Concert

The Ladies Aid and Missionary Society of the First Reformed Church sponsors a sacred concert by the Indian Choir of the Winnebago mission in Winnebago Nebr. On Friday November 19 at 745 p m the 25 member group will sing and Rev Gradus Aalberts will give a brief message about the mission. An offering will go to pay the Indian Chapel debt. Open Appeal To All Towns And Churches In Hull Iowa

Open appeal asks all towns churches and schools to pick November 21 or November 28 as the day to raise funds for the Christian Rural Overseas Program to feed starving Europe. Sioux County aims to exceed targets with a goal of $5 per family and three cars as a symbol.

Corn Loans And Purchase Agreement For Sioux County

Sioux County offers corn loans with a loan price of 1.36 and 3 percent interest plus a cent per bushel sealing fee. Moisture limits vary by date for car corn and 13.5 percent for shelled corn. All loans mature Sept 1, 1949 and may be released anytime by paying the loan note. Purchase agreements require county office completion and charge a half cent per bushel. A copy is mailed to local bankers and elevators.

Sioux County visitors to the Iowa Farm Bureau convention in Des Moines November 15 19 will hear several outstanding speakers. Senator Aiken of Vermont author of the long range farm plan Emily Taft Douglas former congresswoman from Illinois Austin Finnessy director of education and public relations for the Iowa State Federation of Labor Roe Bartle Kansas City banker farmer Iowa's Fred Maytag I Jasper Co Senator and R G Eggert of the American Meat Institute head up the list. Reservations in the County Farm Bureau office indicate that several farmers from the press will attend the convention.

4-H Banquet Highlights Sioux County Club Event

The Orange City Community Building hosted the Sioux County 4-H banquet with about 150 members and leaders present. Talks included Agnes Te Paske on Boys and Girls of other Lands. humor readings by Mrs. William Bellman. New county officers were elected: President Gerald Korver, Vice-President Anne Koole, Secretary-Treasurer Clifford De Boom, Historian Carrol Winterfield. awards were given for past achievements.
