Commencement Exercises for Class of 1946 Held at Reformed Church
The annual commencement program featured a processional by Dorthy Van der Haar and addresses by Jhan H. Rosenberg and H. Vari House. Eleven seniors received diplomas, led by Richard Auberg and Esther De Wild, plus eighth grade diplomas awarded to numerous regional students. The class motto was Hands that Work, Brains that Think, and Hearts that Love, with white carnations and royal blue and white colors. The year saw strong school support, good attendance, and a healthful summer ahead.

Mission Festival at St John Lutheran Observes Services
Will observe its annual Mission festival next Sunday June 2 with two German and two English services led by Rev Wm Meinen of St Paul Lutheran Hull and Rev A S Burgess of Minneapolis. Burgess speaks at 2:30 on Latin America with motion pictures and again at 8:00 about a South America trip. Burgess has traveled worldwide and edits The Missionary magazine. Boyden High School shines in statewide tests and grade programs
Boyden High School students posted high percentile scores on a statewide social and scientific developments test. Sophomores 65th, juniors 82nd, seniors 85th percentile with seniors near 95 in social development and 91 in science. Eighth graders presented a class day program with awards, diplomas, and perfect attendance noted for Norvan Roggen. Picnic days featured large turnouts, games, and a ball game between students and parents in pleasant weather.
