Iowa posted a 32 percent jump in crop receipts in 1953, reaching nearly 450 million and ranking first in the nation. National figures from the U S Department of Agriculture show Iowa maintaining a strong agricultural economy with total cash receipts of 2.3 billion, up 2 percent from 1952 while other top states fell. Only 11 states gained in 1953.
