Henry Bosman led the Republican county supervisor field with the highest vote in a five way race. Other competitors included Reuvers Schafer Bomgaars Kool and Van Zee with Bosman winning the unexpired term. Democratic results and statewide races also reported amid a busy primary day in Boyden.
The Boyden group led by Mrs Alvin Linch and Mrs Ed Blumeyer gathered at Sioux Center town hall and park for Rally Day activities. Attendees included Ruth Jacobsma Beverly Ardyce Boelsma Gladys Elaine Vander Garde Mary Ellen Salmon Harriet Landhuis Nelva Moret and Margaret Ann Bosman.
Miss Marian Heemskerk was honored Tuesday evening at the Ed Den Herder home for a bridal shower. Games and lunch prepared by hostesses Mrs Bert Heida and Mrs Ed Den Herder were enjoyed. attendees included Mrs Jim Granstra and several relatives and friends.
The Men’s Brotherhood of the First Reformed Church will meet Friday evening June 11 at 8 o’clock in the church parlors. Capel Belles met May 14 at Ted Doorenbos’s home with roll call about a piece of furniture to recover. Janet Mouw spoke on Caring for Paint and Cornish brushes and Donna Doorenbos demonstrated Enameling a Chair. Darlene Doorenbos demonstrated mounting a picture in a mat. hostesses were Donna and Darlene Doorenbos.

High school graduates with three math or science units qualify for meteorological aid. starting pay 265 a month with promotion to 306 after training. Nine Sioux County extension council members and staff toured Iowa State College on May 28 to study farm and home economics resources for their districts. The group met with officials including Maurice Eldridge and toured agronomy, animal husbandry, home economics, swine testing, dairy, veterinary labs, the 4 H camp, and the Ankeny research farm.

Eugene C. Mulder of the Sioux Electric Cooperative says the cooperative expects to receive power from Fort Randall dam during the week of June 11. Four substations may connect to the Bureau of Reclamation system on June 12 and 13 if no delays occur. Power would be transmitted from the bureau substation over Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative lines.
Saturday visitors to the John Bernisse home were Gerrit Winkelhorst and wife from Skeota Minnesota. Thursday evening guests in the Philipan Gorp home included Jim Van Gorp of Orange City and Ella Vreeman of Ripon California. Henry Bosman and Margaret Ann were Wednesday evening visitors to the Lewis Heitritter home. Harry Riensma of Sanborn, and Mr and Mrs Wm Mouw along with Mr and Mrs Henry Schoeneman attended John Barents’s funeral in Ieton on Thursday.
