Meet the Carburetor Twins Plan Summer Fishing Trip

Johnny Rensink and Peter Kooi plan a northern fishing trip this summer after buying a Model A carburetor from Albert Grooters. Johnnie tested the device at General Motors testing grounds on Boyden's Main street, noting better fuel efficiency and a speed gain of about thirty mph. They later learned they had installed a Model T carburetor with only the choke rod differing and hope to gift Albert a genuine choke rod.

Veenschooter couple in near fatal crash near Spencer

Tony and Johanna Veenschooter escaped serious injury after their car crashed into a ditch while returning from Des Moines in a Model A delivery truck. The truck was demolished and the couple planned to move to Arizona.

Boyden Produce Leases Hollow Tile Quarters for Move

Boyden Produce has leased the former Veenschoten garage to begin moving operations. Mr. Schortinghuis and staff plan to relocate to the roomy quarters, with the Schortinghuist family moving into the Veenschootens’ house as they depart for Arizona. Residents regret the Veenschooten family leaving.

Beginners Band Plans Monday Practice At Town Hall

The Beginners Band organized at a Monday meeting sponsored by the Boyden Commercial Club will begin practice Monday night at the town hall with John Vander Maaten as leader. About twenty five members have joined including several girls and parental involvement urged. The Woman's Citizenship Club has improved Boyden park with new fence posts fencing pergodas and white lattice entrances and plans shrubbery and flowers with help from local merchants.
