De Jong sells farm near Boyden to N Dunnick

George De Jong sells his 134 acre farm located a mile and a half west of Boyden to Neil Dunnick for 350 dollars per acre. Possession is March 1 1920. De Jong then buys town property from Albert Smit and moves into the east part of town after leaving the farm. Smit plans a new modern home to be built this spring.

Rensink Bros. Dairy Farm Sale Totals $5180

On the Prairie Queen Dairy farm near Sheldon Rensink Bros. sold about 20 head of high grade Holsteins for an average of 205 dollars, top price 260. Hogs averaged 70 dollars, alfalfa hay up to 38.50 per ton. Col Frank Meyers and L P Struyk officiated as a large crowd attended in ideal weather. Rensink plans to stock the farm with registered Holsteins to boost dairy success.

Daylight Saving Time Ahead Nationwide This Sunday

Clocks will move forward one hour at 2:00 A M on the last Sunday in March as the daylight saving law remains in effect nationwide. Set clocks forward Saturday night to wake on standard Sunday time.

A group of girls held a party at the city hall last Friday evening with a good time reported and refreshments served. Klaus Drenth and daughters and Mr Case Gorzeman were passengers to Sheldon last Saturday afternoon. August Winter attended the Rensink Bros sale at Sheldon on Saturday.

Bonus for Discharged Soldiers Details and Claims Process

Washington announces a 60 dollar veteran bonus for those honorably discharged since April 1 1917. Eligible include officers soldiers sailors nurses and coast guard personnel with active war service. Claims for discharged officers or Navy personnel are directed to specific Washington offices with required discharge documentation.

Mouw Return From Army Honorably Discharged

Arthur Mouw son of Mr and Mrs Gerrit Mouw residing south of Borden returned from the army last Thursday with an honorable discharge. Mr Mouw had overseas service. Mr and Mrs Wm Moret and son Robert traveled to Chandler Minnesota last week due to illness of John Moret who is suffering from cancer. Sam Pedersen recently moved to Inwood and was here on business Friday of last week.
