Soldier and heiress find romance in late night river trip
Drusilla, a 26 year old shop assistant and daughter of a druggist, is swept off her feet by a tall soldier she meets in a drug store. After a gift of chocolates and a mysterious note, they arrange a moonlit canoe ride to the river where they dream of a future together. He vows to quit the army and sell bonds to win her, while she imagines a life of independence and ambition.
