110 Men Register for Army in Boyden
Registration day in Boyden Sheridan township saw 110 young men sign up for military service. Band T Club members wore U S A armbands and served lunch, raising about 40 dollars for the Red Cross. After registering, locals enjoyed the Amusement Co showing of The Spoilers starring William Farnum and Kathryn Williams.

Horace Putnam Jr Loses Eye In Farm Accident
Horace Putnam Jr. lost his right eye last week at the Roscoe Creswell farm near Boyden while cutting woven wire fencing. A piece sprang up striking his eye and a pupil gash made saving the eye impossible. To save the other eye doctors recommended removing the injured eye and replacing it with a glass eye. Friends express regret at the accident.
