Boyden to resurfaced streets and new highway work
Boyden plans a town street resurfacing project with an $8,000 bond issue. The streets will be scarified and rebuilt with a permanent, 27 foot top. Je Van Buskark of Hawarden is contractor. Glenn Rensink handles graveling and grading toward the county line.

Transformer Fire Cuts Power In Boyden
Last Saturday a transformer behind Bomgaars Motor Co. in Boyden blew, shooting flames and a steam whistle-like sound. The East Main Street area lost power briefly while crews from Iowa Public Service fixed the fault and returned to Sheldon by seven o clock.
