The Sioux County Cow Testing Association reports June 1930 results with high herd honors to George VandeGaarde of Hull at 1200 lbs milk and 43.3 fat, second to Henry A. Bodewitz of Boyden at 2362 lbs milk and 40.2 fat, and third to Peter O Bouma at 1157 lbs milk and 39.6 fat. Ea Rensing of Hospers led cows at 1553 lbs milk and 88.5 fat for 27 days credit. tie for third between Albert Dethmers and Theodore De Hoogh, with De Hoogh at 2172 lbs milk and 65.2 fat. Association average 903 lbs milk and 81 fat. 220 cows tested, 16 drys. 60 cows averaged 40+ lbs fat, 18 cows 50+ lbs. Butterfat fell slightly from last month. Last month averaged 929.4 lbs milk and 382.5 lbs fat.

Unknown Plane Drops Mysterious Package Near Boyden
A small yellow cabin plane over Boyden dropped a large package seen by Anthony Smit as it sped away. The object, at least three feet square, fell near the Salle farm along the Boyden highway while searches continue. Local residents and visitors from Chicago and Monroe travel through the area as other community notices accompany the report.

Milwaukee Road to Spraying 2.25 Million Gallons for Weeds
The Milwaukee Road will deploy about 2,250,000 gallons of spray this summer along 11,200 miles of right-of-way. Officials say the product is nearly non inflammable and non poisonous and also serves as a preservative for rails and ties.
