The Iowa Agricultural Extension Service and the U S Soil Conservation Service stress close cooperation to fit soil and water resource management into farm enterprises. Since the Sioux County District formed in 1949, contouring on 16 759 acres and 20 7 miles of terracing have been completed, with 41 farm plans in place.

Death of Fred H. Wilkens in January
Letter from Mrs. W. C. Briggs reports the death of Fred H. Wilkens born in Germany who settled near Boyden Sheldon and Hull. A carpenter by trade he worked on local buildings until October and died after a series of cerebral attacks, with hospital admission on January 4.
