County 4-H Club News from Grant Willing Workers Officers Training

Grant Willing Workers 4-H club officers returned home Saturday after a training day at Rock Valley. Attendees included Linch Ana mae Koole Mary Ellen Copper Donna Jean Tutte Lorys Getting and Hedy Lou Jacobs with additional members at a evening party. Local residents visited homes in Sioux Center George Hospers Orange City and adjacent farms with social gatherings and travel notes.

Miss Marion Meyer daughter of Mr and Mrs John E Meyer of Boyden wed Edward Meyer son of Mr and Mrs Gerrit J Meyer near Sheldon. Ceremony held January 15 at St John’s Lutheran Church north of Boyden with Rev William Striepe officiating. Wilma Meyer maid of honor. Alice Meyer bridesmaid. About 100 guests attended a six o’clock reception at the couple’s home area. The couple will live on a farm north of Boyden.

Cars Collide At Park Corner Intersection

Two cars owned by Joe Van Velzen and Dick Van Zee collided at a park corner on Saturday. Damages were $200 for the Van Velzen vehicle and $150 for the Van Zee vehicle. Mrs Van Velzen traveled from the west while Mr Van Zee came from the north. Patrolman Haze reported the incident. no injuries occurred.

Boyden Hardware Tops Farmers Co op In Close Bowling Night

The Boyden Hardware and Farmers Co op bowling teams met Tuesday with three tight games. Hardware won two by 16 and 110 pins before Farmers edged them by 1 pin in the final frame. Gerrit Schneider posted a 221 high single while Collins notched 202 for the 200 Club.
