Death of Catharina Meyn 1840 1926 Oppeln to Boyden Iowa
Catharina Meyn nee Riebeling was born July 12 1840 in Oppeln Province Germany and died February 28 1926 in Boyden after a stroke at 3 30 am aged 85 7 11. Funeral Friday at 1 pm at the Rohde home and 2 pm at St Johns Lutheran Church. She married Peter Meyn in 1864 and they immigrated to the United States in 1872 settling near Boyden later moving to Boyden in 1899. Mr Meyn died in 1914 and for 12 years she lived with daughter Mrs Rohde. Survived by five children including Mrs Rohde Mrs Umland Mrs Dickman Peter Meyn and Herman Meyn of Sheldon plus grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was a Lutheran and devout Christian.

Grooters Celebrate 25th Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs John Grooters celebrated their twenty fifth wedding anniversary on February 9 with about two hundred guests. A program featured musical duets and a trio plus a piano duet. The couple joined in 1901 and have seven children: Bernard Jeannette Anne Raymond Marvella Lydia and Lawrence. They reside on a farm northwest of Boyden.

Meyn Petrich Wedding In St Pauls Lutheran Church
One of the loveliest chance weddings occurred Wednesday evening February 24 at St Pauls Lutheran with Miss Emma Katherine Meyn wedding William Petrich. Rev H Flentie officiated at 7:30 pm before many relatives and friends. The bridal party entered to Lohengrin. Attendants wore blue georgette and yellow crepe de chine with roses and valley lilies. A rainbow-decorated reception followed at the Meyn home. The couple plans to reside near Boyden after March 8.
