Meeting of Boyden Transmission Co. on Feb. 15

The Boyden Transmission Company members will meet at the elevator office of the Farmers Co operative Association on Saturday February 15 at 1 30 p m Election of officers and other business will be transacted. Anna Langstraat of Newkirk visited the Langstraat home overnight.

Sioux County Cow Testing Report January 1930

High herd led by Albert Dethmers with average milk 1984 pounds and fat 43.6. Second herd led by G Van de Gaarde with 923 pounds and fat 34.4. Third herd under George Meyners with 963 pounds and fat 32.8. Association totals show 341 cows with 66 drys and average 667 pounds milk and 25.6 fat. High cow owned by Albert Dethmers with 2027 pounds and 75 fat. Second high cow owned by Peter O Bouma with 1812 pounds and 74.6 fat.

Boyden Bakery Plans New Equipment Installations

City Bakery announced upgrades including an electric doughnut maker, a high speed pea mixer, an automatic cookie machine, and bun divide mixer to improve product quality and reduce labor. Sioux City visitors Albert Scholten and family, Mr and Mrs John W Horn, and others were noted among callers.

Obituary for Margaret Jeanette Van Den Bosch 1924 1930

Margaret Jeanette Van Den Bosch died January 31 at the parental home near Boyden at age five years, four months, and five days. Funeral services were held at First Reformed church with Rev. Brink and Rev. Beving officiating. interment in Boyden cemetery. She had been bedbound and uncomplaining for four months. The family and community extend sympathy.

Hollander Purchases Hull Home at Public Auction

Henry Schloetje as executor of the Stange estate reports that the Hull property sold at public auction for 4300 dollars. Purchaser is Mrs Maggie Hollander, residing northwest of Boyden, and the sale was advertised in the Reporter. All property sold at good figures.

Boyden PTA to Meet February 12 with School Program

The Boyden Parent-Teacher Association schedules a meeting on Wednesday February 12. An all school program has been arranged and should prove interesting. Everyone is welcome to attend.
