The Women’s Citizenship Club of Boyden will gather Friday at 2 PM at Mrs. A. E. Miller’s home with Mrs. Pollock as co host. Cor nelius Koele of the County Agent will discuss soil conservation and the topic will be Great Dams and Reservoirs.
Miss Mary Drenth arrived Thursday from Warland Wyoming where she spent time at the Paul Anderson home. Mrs. Anderson is the former Grace Drenth.
Women in the community with wedding gowns to lend for a school event are asked to contact Mrs. Herman Meester or call the Jackson Hotel to arrange.
Mr. and Mrs. A Belling and Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Green spent Wednesday in the John Rensink home at Slayton Minnesota. Wilfred Rensink returned home with me after spending a few days here.
Rev. and Mrs. J A Vis of Sheldon visited Rev. Brink on Wednesday, sharing a brief church call and fellowship during the midweek hours.

The annual Sioux County Red Cross meeting was held January 25 at the Orange City Town Hall. Despite wind and cold, broad county turnout attended. Reports highlighted first aid and home service work, flood relief efforts, and county roll call results totaling 1241 dollars. Elected leaders include Charles De Vries chair, Steve Vanden Brink vice chair, Dr. L. F. Hoefle second vice chair, Mrs. Charles Vander Ploeg secretary, and Mrs. A. T. Stafford board member.

The Health Committee announces the Seal Sale has raised $75.51 so far. Some letters remain to be returned and urged to be sent promptly. Of the amount allotted to Boyden, $20 was used for the Audiometer test.
The Iowa State Chess Championship will be decided in Sanborn Iowa on February 21 22. Two class format with round robin to crown Class A and Class B winners. Entry fee 1 includes one year Iowa Chess Association membership. Notables such as Kenneth Davenport Chris Bangs Harry Jensen Walter James expected to attend.
Sioux County Republicans plan a 7 o clock Lincoln's birthday dinner at the Hawkeye Hotel Orange City on February 12 with Henry TePiske Velma Hoeven and John Boeginte on the committee. Dinner price capped at 60 cents per plate. A social evening with a possible outside guest speaker and a light musical program. No funds solicited. All Republicans urged to RSVP to committee members.
Mr and Mrs Howard Verrips and their daughter Sandra Lee relocated to town and are now living in the Veenscholten apartment they previously occupied after moving from Sibley on Tuesday.
Mrs. Herman Stegeman, previously ill for some time, shows slow but steady improvement as of now.

John Robben of Melvin, father of Mrs. Andrew Rosenboom, died suddenly after a long illness. He had been at Iowa City hospital then returned home for Christmas, declined rapidly, and died at 9 20 Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held in Melvin Saturday afternoon with several local relatives attending.
Notice to stockholders announces the annual meeting of Farmers Cooperative Creamery Company of Boyden Iowa on Wednesday February 9 1938 at 1 30 in the Town Hall Boyden. Meeting will elect officers and transact other business. By order of the Board Henry Schloetje Secretary.
The Farmers Co operative Association of Boyden Iowa will hold its annual stockholders meeting at the Town Hall on February 16 1988 at 1 30 o clock. The annual report will be read and other business conducted. Prizes will be given away and attendees should enter their names in the box by order of the Board.
The schedule lists away games on February 4 at Alton and February 11 at Orange City.
