John Westra Sale Acknowledged As Great Community Event
The John Westra sale held last Thursday December 19 was a good success with strong turnout. Total receipts reached about 7300 dollars as Col Van Wyk of Sandr on presided and Mc Crum served as clerk. John plans to retire to Sheldon with his family. Next Sunday Union Services at Reformed Church will feature Rev A J Van Lummel's farewell sermon as the family prepares to move to Grand Rapids Michigan. The Verrips family plans to move from Boyden to Monroe South Dakota in January for a hardware job before returning to farming. The community mourns the 18 month old child of Mr and Mrs J W Horn who died from influenza and pneumonia, with sympathy extended to the family.
