New Boyden School Building Dedicated
Last Thursday evening December six the dedication of Boyden’s new school building drew a large attentive audience. State Superintendent A M Deyoe spoke warmly and local officials and teachers presented the program with music and history of the school. The Home Economics department served refreshments as the project moves toward completion.

The Rock Rapids Postoffice safe was blown at 3 am. Burglars fled west toward Sioux Falls after stealing between 2000 and 8000 dollars in stamps and about 50 dollars in cash. The raid followed a pattern of excess stamps from county smaller offices. Documentary, thrift, and war savings stamps were left behind. P H McCarty is the postmaster. Tax Sale Slim Sioux County draws few bidders
The Sioux County tax sale held by County Treasurer Dethmers saw minimal activity with only 51 properties, mostly low value town lots, offered and a total under $1,000 as just three bidders attended. Old Boyden School Building Sold At Auction
The old Boyden school building sold at auction last Saturday afternoon for $500 to John DeJong Erick Hirt and H Maris. Buyers plan to tear it down and reuse lumber to construct one or two rental houses in Boyden. The coal shed sold for $119 to K Drent. C Van Zy of Hospers acted as auctioneer.

Court Stenographer to Enter Army Service in France
Miles Gibbs, Lyon county court stenographer for the past term, will retire from civil life to join the army for Uncle Sam. He expects to pass the final examination and, if accepted, will serve as a stenographer in France for the fighting men.
