Managara Takes Over Legion Bowl and Café

Bowling Alleys Re surfaced at Boyden Legion Center

The Boyden Legion bowling alleys, in use for one year, will be re sanded by Brunswick Co to restore them to top condition. Extensive repairs completed and open bowling expected next week. Specials machine self levels surfaces to within a fraction of an inch. League bowling starts September 10 with open bowling on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Iowa Narrowing Waterfowl Season Extends 70 Days

The 1956 Iowa waterfowl season runs 70 days from October 6 to December 14 after the commission chose a continuous 70 day period over a 63 day split. Changes include a closed wood duck season statewide and a 15 day extension for jacksnipe. Daily bag limits are four ducks with eight in possession. geese limits are five with up to two Canada or whitefront subspecies and snow blues allowed. Hours are from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. Sunrise sunset times will be published before opening.
