Fire destroys barn on Wallinga Farm
A barn on Bert Wallinga’s farm burned to the ground Monday afternoon as a strong south wind fed the flames. Boyden Fire Department fought the fire but could not stop the blaze, with no nearby buildings at risk in the yard.

Military Services Honor Private Robert Kuper
Last rites were held for Priv. Robert Kuyper husband of Mrs Lucy Kuyper Tuesday afternoon. Army personnel escorted the body to Sheldon Funeral Home. Short services were conducted at the First Reformed Church with final military rites by the William Monster Post of the American Legion. Pvt. Kuyper was killed in action on Luzon May 8 1945 he entered service May 31 1944.
