Department of Agriculture Reports First Year Operations

The Department of Agriculture presents its first year financial statement and activity report. It shows total receipts for year ending June 30, 1924 of 209,466.77 with expenses of 159,462.49, consolidation savings of 61,779.33, and 140,967 inspections in 1924 compared with 97,255 in 1923, a 45 percent rise. Tuberculosis testing costs fell to 17c per head in 1924 from 35c in 1923, with cattle tested numbers 584,838 and related expenditures noted. A Klan meeting near Hull drew a large crowd with attendees from Boyden and surrounding areas.
