Students shared drawings of houses books dogs and birds and wrote sentences to match them. Joan David Lee Roger and Harold achieved perfect spelling this week while many learned syllables do me fa so on the music staff.
Johnny Marvin Kenneth and Alvin brought flowers for our room and bulbs planted last week grow fast. We will plant seeds this week and watch them grow. We made a large red white and blue flag. A group of students including Marvin Joyce Mae Mary Ann Donna Marian Norma Dickie Billy Robert Joan Shirley Kenneth Norvan Marilyn and Lois scored 100 in a spelling review on Friday.
Students in seventh grade will take geography and hygiene on Thursday while eighth graders attend English, mathematics, history and civics on Friday. Both grades are currently reviewing. The class also describes crafts with soap and Evangeline notebooks tied to the reading.
All residents of Sioux County must register for sugar rations on May 4, 5 and 6. An adult may register for the whole family and must declare per person sugar on hand. Rationing rules assign stamps or books based on per person totals, with rural districts using local school staff for registration.

A Thursday morning collision at the Reformed church corner involving the Smit-Dickevers truck driven by Anthony Smit and a Stude baker sedan driven by Herman Hundt damaged the truck’s wheel and the sedan’s spring and tire. Hundt carried crates of chickens in the car during the impact. A highway patrolman investigated and both drivers carry full insurance.

Rev Wm Striepe conducted services for Rev Guetzlaff in Sheldon Sunday evening. Guetzlaff underwent an appendectomy at the Sheldon hospital last week.
A theater party formed by Dr and Mrs Will Van Zanten Mrs Wm Jantzen and Bert Nash attended the show The Remark able Andrew at the Iowa Theater in Sheldon on Tuesday evening.

The Wm Heitritter family from near Melvin visited the red Woelber home Sunday. Luther Leaguers from St John Lutheran church will attend the Northwest Federation League Rally at Sibley Sunday May 3.
Burglars broke into Boyden Hardware Store and Farmers Co-Operative Association Lumber Yard between Monday night and Tuesday morning. No evidence of theft or damage found. a grease gun was moved from its place at the lumberyard and left near the rear gate.
For sale an 180 acre farm with good buildings on a gravel road in the Boyden area. Roggen Land Co. based in Sheldon, Iowa handles the listing.
