The Third Liberty Loan drive opened in Boyden with a $47,665 minimum share and already $67,000 subscribed, about $20,000 over the target. Residents praised for strong response as April campaign continues and local ads urge further contributions.
The town council led by Mayor Eddy met in regular session with roll call showing Bergman Mahoney Dickevers Stehrenberg present and Blessing absent. Treasurer reports a balance on hand of 1866.80 after receipts and disbursements. Several bills were approved including payments to H Maris Ed Diekevers Bergman and others. A new council was sworn in and C F Sarset appointed town clerk for the ensuing year.

In kind donations list potatoes 250 and oats 500 plus hens 300.
Honorable W. D. Boles of Sheldon resigns from the bench to run for Congress in the Eleventh District. Roach endorses him, praising his public service, integrity, and patriotism, while noting Judge Bates might have stayed on the bench. The endorsement presents Boles as a capable, diligent lawyer suited for national service.
W H Eddy and F W Bloxham of Sheldon left Saturday for Sioux City to join a party of bankers and commission men on a ten day booster trip through Montana and Wyoming.
