Homecoming Float Winners at Parade

Friday's Homecoming parade featured about a dozen floats of varying sizes as judges selected the top four. A windy Thursday preceded the event and after the parade floats were parked on Main Street for close viewing, recognizing the effort of the builders.

Lois Ann Bauman and Erling Nerem wed at Thor Church

Lois Ann Bauman and Erling Charles Nerem exchanged vows at Thor Lutheran church on Sunday Oct 11 at 3 30 PM. The bride daughter of L A Bauman Thor and the groom son of Lawrence Nerem Renwick. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev Edward Swenson before an altar with white mums and pom poms. The bride wore a crystal satin and Chantilly lace gown with fitted bodice and scalloped neckline. A cascade bouquet of talisman roses accompanied by a fingertip veil. Attendants included Sharon Blodahl as maid of honor and several bridesmaids. Best man and groomsmen came from Renwick, Corwith and Thor. A reception for 250 followed at the parish hall. The couple will reside in Tulsa Oklahoma after a tour of points en route. The groom is attending Spartan School of Aeronautics. A trail ride notice from Saddle Club appears.

Roy E Jennings director of public relations for the Town State Education Association will address Humboldt County Education Association at Renwick High School Wednesday October 21. Session begins 6 30 pm. He will discuss the action program of the Town State Education Association and the program for study by local and county education associations for the coming school year focusing on legislation to improve school quality.

Funeral Services For Adolph H Krause 82 Held Here

Funeral services for Adolph H Krause 82 were held Thursday Oct 15 at 2 pm at St Paul Lutheran Renwick with Rev Norman V Johnson officiating. He died Monday Oct 12 after a heart attack. Rosamond Hefty and Robert Oppedahl sang with organist Mrs Otto Swanson. Casket attendants were Winter Clifford Skive Olaf Kleven Ray Block Arnold Block and Elmer Phtipp. Burial followed at Vernon Cemetery Renwick with Blake Funeral Home in charge.

Hospital Notes Report on Allen Blake and Ona Engstrom

Allen Blake remains a patient at Mercy Hospital in Mason City. Ona Marie Engstrom secretary for Boone Valley school was taken ill at work and rushed to Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge for major surgery and is recovering, expected home by week’s end.

Luggage Giveaway Winner Named At Renwick Savings Bank

Pictured Sandra Arne daughter of Mr and Mrs Elmo Arne draws the winning name for the luggage prize from Renwick Savings Bank Adrian Rade bank maker holds the container Carl P Kraft won both the luggage and a trip. Mr Kraft will be on the air Saturday night over KGLOTV following the newscast. The trip winner is to be announced at that time.

Bobcats Triumph In Homecoming Thriller Over Gilmore City

Boone Valley rallies from a 12 7 halftime deficit to beat Gilmore City 1949 homecoming night. Ed Hetter and Rich Nissen combine on a 28 yard pass for the go ahead score and Dean Neuberger finishes with a yard TD run as Bobcats rush for 333 yards led by Doug Roseberry 162 yards. Gilmore City only 142 total yards and completes just two of ten passes as Bobcats improve to 1 3 on the season and head toward Dows.
