Arlene Bell Lew Weds Lewis Sampson at Fort Dodge

Arlene Bell Lew and Lewis J Sampson wed Oct 2 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church Fort Dodge in a double ring ceremony attended by family. The bride wore a brown suit with orchid corsage. groom’s party included Miss Edith Isaacson and Arthur Digerness. A reception followed with gardenia corsages and a wedding cake decorated in pink and white. The couple plans to farm near Goldfield after a honeymoon in northern Minnesota.

Bowman named plastic surgery technician at University

Gene Bowman daughter of Mrs. Myron Collins who graduated in June from the State University of Iowa school of nursing has accepted a position as the plastic surgery technician for Dr. Dean M. Lierle at the University. Dr. Lierle is among the foremost plastic surgeons in the United States.

Mission Band Presents The Five Little Dollars Play

The Mission Rang or Evangelical church presented a vivid Sunday morning program by the Mission band led by Mrs. H L Sunderman. The four part play titled The Five Little Dollars featured scenes in an American home China Africa India Japan and Julian Mission with a clear moral message.

Bean harvest begins in Renwick as frost remains absent. Beans test 19 to 17 inches moisture deemed good. Quaker Oats Co and Farmers Cooperative report strong bean quality and busy harvest. Farmers average 23 to 41 bushels per acre.

Luther Youth Rally At Good Hope Titonka Oct 6

About 200 youths and pastors from Hawkeye Federation Luther Leagues attended the fall rally at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka Iowa on October 6. Rev A Murdoch delivered the morning sermon themed Stewards of the Lord. Rev F P Denieuenth spoke in the afternoon on Stewards in the Luther League and community. Evening featured Mario’s magic and skit. Attendees included ten Renwick Leaguers and one Corwith attendee with Rev and Mrs Luz. St Paul Leamie of Renwick joined Hawkeye Federation.

Evangelical Church to Host District Youth Rally

Renwick Evangelical Church will host the District Youth Rally of the Evangelical United Brethren on October 13. Registration begins 2:30 PM, service at 7:30 PM with Rev. L B Deaver of Fort Dodge as guest speaker. Ladies Aid to serve supper. Frank Berry takes a new job at Hahne Printing in Webster City. American Legion Auxiliary Celebrates 25th Anniversary

The American Legion Auxiliary observed its 25th anniversary Tuesday at the school house. A 7:00 dinner by the Lutheran Ladies Aid preceded a candlelit table setting and a three tier cake with rose buds. Toasts, a service growth toast, and recognitions followed between dinner courses. Bingo and committees filled the evening as the membership drive continues for wives daughters and female relatives of World War I or World War II veterans.

Some Progress Made On Proposed Athletic Field

The Renwick community advances a lighted athletic field project to serve youth and adults. The plan aims to provide basketball, football, baseball, and kittenball venues, preventing youth from seeking less desirable alternatives and supporting local competitive play with evening access.

Market Day Sale For Library Success

The Market Day Sale held Saturday at the Legion Building attracted many attendees and raised 93.21 dollars to fund a full time librarian. The Library Board thanks the community and Legion members for support and facility use. Dedicated St Johns Lutheran Church Corwith Promises Growth

The St John s Lutheran Church of Corwith town was consecrated as a house of worship on Easter Sunday, with 65 worshippers and 40 in Sunday School enrollment. Rev Roy Huck preached the dedication service while Rev Paul Lutz led liturgical duties, and offerings totaling 269.00 funded the church building fund as the community anticipates a larger worship space.
