Two Renwick Boys Injured In Main Street Collision

Two local youths Don Kraft and Daryl Hansen were involved in an accident on Renwick's main street near the Lloyd Swanson corner at about 9 45 PM. Kraft drove his father's car from the east and veered into a protruding box on a Tank Wagon causing the impact that threw Daryl through the windshield. Daryl suffered severe head cuts and was hospitalized while Don was treated and released. The pair had sung at the Farmers Co op dinner earlier that evening.

Norman Smith to Wed Lucile Copenhaver in Nashua Church

Theannouncement from Mr and Mrs W C Copenhaver of Oelwein states their daughter Lucile will marry Norman H Smith son of Mr and Mrs Harrold Smith of Renwick. The couple will wed Wednesday April 3 at 1 p.m. in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. Miss Copenhaver teaches in Ackley while Mr Smith serves in the Army stationed at Camp Chaffee Arkansas.

Leone Rummens Seeks National 4-H Camp Trip

Leone Rummens of Humboldt County is a candidate for a national 4-H club camp trip to Washington D C in June. She has eight years in 4 H and a strong record in nutrition conservation poultry gardening reading and landscaping. She was a 1956 National Club Congress winner in Chicago and is one of nine state candidates with one chosen for the trip.

Farmers Cooperative holds open house with dividend payout

President Loren Schipul announced a 147 dividend of about $10,000 to 260 members to be paid Saturday March 30 at the Renwick elevator office. An all day open house featured coffee and snacks, with entertainment by local groups, a film, and a hat mix up noted by Manager Wilbur Moore.

County Meeting Of The Federation Of Woman's Clubs Here

The annual county meeting of the Federation of Woman's Clubs will be held at the EUB Church on Tuesday March 26. Registration starts at 8 30 a m and the meeting opens at 10 a m. Speakers are Mrs Max Goldman and Mrs Hennings. A noon luncheon will be served by the Builders class. The Fortnightly Club of Renwick hosts.

Tiny entertains Boone Valley players and dates at home

Friday evening Tiny hosted Boone Valley basketball players and their dates after a band concert. Chaperones Mr and Mrs Ted Vande vier attended. Guests enjoyed sandwiches, pop, candy, popcorn, dancing, TV, and card games.

Fortnightly Club Holds Regular Meeting and Local Notices

The Fortnightly Club met at Mrs 5. C. Maurer's home with Mrs H. E. Goettsch as leader discussing hobbies. Renwick merchants announce a special $2.00 Day on Saturday March 30 with bargains on tables counters and floors. Shoppers may pay with a $2 bill two one dollar bills or any two dollars. Proceeds from related play event fund costs and the sophomore class postponed to March 25.

Boone Valley Boys Win Little Nine Tourney

Boone Valley Junior High boys claimed the Little Nine Tournament with a 43-16 victory over Livermore of Twin Rivers. Dean Neuberger scored 19 points and averaged 17 per game across the three tournament contests.

KYN and BTW Club Meetings Noted With Social Twists

The KYN Club hosted Mrs Darwin Roseberry with scripture by Mrs Keith Bressler and slides from a December California trip. The BTW Club gathering led by Mrs Albert Nelson featured Miss Bess Hansen on the talk Turn Back The Clock.
