The Renwick Junior American Legion baseball team defeated Hum toll 2 to 0 in the county tournament final at Humboldt Friday afternoon. Velak pitched for Renwick, allowing eight hits as Renwick claimed the county championship and earned a spot in the district tournament next month.

Iowa voters backed repeal of the 18th amendment in a Tuesday special election with strong county variations. In Wright County dry prevailed by a narrow margin of 108, while Renwick precinct tallied 254 ballots with 187 dry and 82 wet, plus spoiled.

Sheriffs statewide were alerted after a man named Jack Toot robbed Mrs. Schoolcraft of 37 dollars and stole Donald Gillespie’s automobile, a model A Ford with license 99 4179, while they worked away from the house on a farm near Renwick. The transient fled and has not been found.
