Ladies from Ramylek and vicinity invited to a shower in the afternoon at the Andrew McCutcheon home near Goldfield. Miss Edna McCutcheon hosts the event in honor of Miss Charlotte Clowes.
Edward Lahr reports a six year old boy named Robert from Eagle Grove went missing Friday afternoon. After a day of searches by police and volunteers, the boy’s body was found in an ice box on a porch near his home, apparently suffocated after crawling inside and the lid closing.
Goldfield defeats Renwick-Hardy 4 to 3 at Goldfield after a late rally in the eighth inning. Errors hurt Renwick-Hardy as Goldfield capitalized on two on base and a key hit to clinch the win. Brown and Swinson pitched for Renwick-Hardy with Thoma catching.
The annual meeting of the stockholders of the Farmers' Co operative Company of Renwick Iowa will be held on Saturday June 16 1933 in the Legion Hall in Renwick. Dinner will be served at 12 o clock noon and the business meeting will follow. Everett Nelson Secretary.
Mrs J J Peer hosted a Renwick eighth grade birthday party Thursday evening for Carmen Peer and Laurence Blesie who are the same age and born on the game day. The rest of the text discusses tax policy and bartender unions with unclear relevance to the event.
Treasury officials report more than 39 million dollars in matured Liberty bonds and Victory notes are unclaimed. Reasons vary from loss or destruction to forgetfulness or belief that funds were donated. Some holders are unaware they can redeem, while others leave funds with the government.
Dale Blesia and Eugene Kilnessy, reporters for the Des Moines Register and Tribune, are invited to attend the annual carriers convention in Des Moines on Monday June 12. The event includes a theatre party where scholarship recipients are announced, a large carrier parade, and free concessions at Riverside Park in the afternoon. Last year about 2700 carriers and their parents attended.
Dr M C Rockwood and his son Curtis were returning to Clarion from Iowa City when their cars sideswiped on a curve. Lights from both vehicles appeared to dazzle the drivers causing insufficient passing distance. No injuries were reported though both cars sustained damage. Rockwood drove away in a damaged Ford V8 with a bent axle and smashed running board.
The Rebekah lodge held a Mother and Daughter program and Banquet at the Odd Fellows hall last Friday evening. Mothers performed songs readings and toasts while games engaged attendees. Three hostesses served refreshments and the program committee included Mrs. W. d. Higging Mrs. H. E. Goettsch and Mrs. Ralph Anderson.

Walter Bloom and Esther Blesie of Renwick graduated from Iowa State Teachers College Cedar Falls in the spring term exercises held Monday morning May 29 Bloom earned a bachelor of science in education and Miss Blesie the primary education diploma They were among 377 degrees and diplomas awarded Dr Charles H Judd of the University of Chicago gave the commencement address and Dr O R Lathan conferred the degrees Other events included the President's Televon on May 21 the commencement dinner May 21 and special church services on May 23
Last Friday afternoon Stanley Ale Curry attempted to reach town from a Smith bark picnic with Elwin Kelling pushing by the bumper method. At the northeast corner of Renwick a road dip and rise to No 60 caused bumper contact, McCarry’s car flipped onto its side but neither driver nor vehicle suffered injuries beyond minor harm.
The Boone Pioneers 4H club held its last meeting at Maybelle Siemens home with eight members and three mothers present. A talk covered keeping records. The afternoon included practice for games at the club rally day in June. If you doubt the value of advertising, ask a friend to name the other eighteen amendments to the constitution.

St Pauls Catheran Church led by Pastor Gev F. Dirks invites all to Sunday School at 10 00 and services at 11 00 a m The church proclaims the Bible as the inspired Word of God preaches the whole Word of God without sensationalism and aims to lift hearts to God Jesus Christ the Savior.
The program lists Bible School with age groups and prepared lessons, morning worship with devotional and inspirational message, Young Peoples Meeting led by the group, evening worship noted as long and helpful, followed by a meal. Friday Mission Circle meets with Mrs George Bofiman. all ladies and the congregation are invited.
