Attendance at Red Cross swimming classes continues to grow with a makeup session on Tuesday morning drawing 78 students. Lightning Strikes Lake Church Belfry Fire Report
Lightning struck the belfry of the Ice Lutheran church early Tuesday morning starting a fire. A cream hauler notified resident Hiram Wig as Renwick and Goldfield fire departments fought the blaze. The alarm came at about 5:49 am. Fire confined to the belfry with no main-structure damage. Congregation saved, floor repaired, top covered. Fire crews praised for rapid response and wind conditions helping limit loss.
