Turkey and Beef Draws Brighten Renwick Holiday Fest
Main Street crowds gathered as the Commercial Club of Renwick held its annual turkey drawing with twenty five turkeys awarded to residents including Velma Rademaker Mia Gene George and more. The Harvey McPeak Post of the American Legion raffled an eight hundred pound beef and cheese gifts were also distributed. Santa Claus handed out treats as the Lutheran Parish capped the season with Christmas Festival Services and upcoming Holiday events at Lake Church and St Paul Church plus a Lake Birthday Luncheon and Holy Land talk by Pastor James Wente.

Humboldt County sales of United States savings bonds reached 34063 in November led by C H Lewellyn. Eleven month county totals for Series 7 and H bonds hit 500200 toward 38 percent of the 1963 goal. Statewide November sales totaled 7474958 with Iowa’s eleven month total 104298881 for 58 percent of its quota.

Went Caroling Den 4 Christmas after-school gathering

The St. Paul Lutheran Congregation held its annual meeting on Friday evening December 20. Reports from the secretary and treasurer and the pastor were heard and accepted. Elected were Ray Block deacon Mark Nelson trustee M M Green treasurer Henry Kamp delegate to the 1964 District Convention with Paul Kirchgatter as alternate. Beavers Lead In Trapping Duo's Season Totals
Terry Messersmith and his brother Dave report a strong trapping season with 35 pound beaver and six beavers trapped along Crane Creek north of New Hampton. They have also taken 220 muskrats four mink and two coon since November 9.
