Renwick High School announces senior class play Turtle Tale with parts assigned and May 7 set for presentation. Meanwhile music and home economics activities fill weeks as students prepare for contests, sewing projects, and class lunches led by Mrs. Calla Tauck.
The eighth grade commencement will be May 20 at 11 o clock with speaker G E Wilson of Basle Grove. Attendees will receive perfect attendance certificates, a dinner will follow with sports in the afternoon, and students return May 21 for dismissal. Graduation funds, tests, and dental hygiene reviews are noted along with grade progress on fractions and three figure multipliers.
A fragment from a six week student log records names like Frances Bird, Shirley Braytor, Myron May, and Mary Axdahl in and out of a dorm room. Frances Bird brings pussy willows. a prize of 1 dollar is won by Sandra McKenna for Easter coloring in the Sunday Register.
The annual town council meeting occurred April 1928 at noon with Mayor Packard presiding. most councilors attended except Jones. Minutes from prior meeting were read and approved. Motions authorized bills approved by the finance committee and salaries, refunds, and various service charges were recorded, including meter deposits, plant supplies, and election-related payments.
In a March meeting, Mayor elect C A Packard was sworn in by Clerk Hall as the council conducted oathings for all members. Committees announced include Finance, Fire and Police, Improvement, Streets and Alleys, Water and Light, Ordinance, Health, and commissioner roles. Marshall and clerk positions were appointed and sworn. A salary raise for the marshal to 49 dollars per month was proposed, then adjournment followed.
