Renwick's softball team defeated Carlson of Humboldt 13 to 1 on Wednesday, June 5. The locals jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first, followed by three homers in the fourth and steady scoring through the fifth and sixth, with strong defense and controlled hits from Marv Hoffman Myron May and Rolland Hohensee. Livermore was the opposing pitcher.

Renwick Team Suffers Heavy Losses in Weekend Baseball
Friday June 7 the Renwick club soaked by a 23 8 rout as Livermore pitchers issued eight strikeouts and the miscues fueled a tumultuous fourth inning. Renwick's Renwick fell again Sunday June 9 10 7 to Dakota City in a back and forth contest as Ron Hawkins homered and Ron Klasse drove in runs but the visitors pulled away late and Renwick now eyes next games Tuesday in Clarion and Wednesday in Humboldt. The ALCW of St Pauls Lutheran met Wednesday with Ruth Circle programs and a reunion planning session for 1969, while a Hefty Hefty history distribution was noted.

Fortnightly Club Tours Country Home Near Vincent
The Fortnightly Club met on June 6 at Mrs. W. H. Long’s home and visited the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schamelberger near Vincent. The remodeled country house features many antiques and a tour was enjoyed. Lunch followed at Mrs. Long’s home. The next meeting is planned for Sept. 12 with Mrs. Floyd Huffaker.
