Summers County approves roof bid for Jumping Branch Seminary
The Summers County school board awarded a $45,915 roof replacement contract to Consolidated Roofing Inc of Salem Virginia for Jumping Branch Seminary. Three other bids ranged up to $58,287. Work starts after paperwork and should finish before winter with state Budget Digest grant funding.

Agencies receive vans to aid elderly and disabled WV residents
Gov Cecil Underwood announced three southern West Virginia nonprofit groups have received converted passenger vans to transport elderly and disabled residents. Each van costs about 35500 with 80 percent federal funding and 20 percent local match. Receiving agencies: FMRS Mental Health Council Beckley Seneca MH MR Council Summersville Wyoming County Workshop Oceana. The agencies pledged to cover the local match.
