Beckley man pleads guilty to extortion and child abuse
Doran Atkins, 32, pleaded guilty in Raleigh County Circuit Court to extortion and child abuse causing risk of serious bodily injury. He threatened to kill his 2‑month‑old son to obtain crack and grabbed the infant during a March home incident. He also pled guilty to shoplifting. sentences run concurrently with other counts.
