Lewisburg woman convicted of false swearing in court

Sara Bostic was found guilty by a 10-woman two-man jury on two counts of false swearing after prosecutors showed she procured relatives and an employee to attend court sessions in 1997. Sentencing set for June 29 with potential fines up to 2000 dollars and two years’ jail. Jennifer Bostic faces a trial slated for June 25.

Coal train derails in Upshur County

FRENCHTON AP A CSX coal train derailed Thursday in southern Upshur County overturning 26 cars and spilling coal on the tracks and ground. Two crew members were unhurt. The derailment happened about 7 am ten miles south of Buckhannon as sixth through 33rd cars derailed from an 84 car consist. The cause is under investigation.
