Parkways Official Pushes Lower Speed Limits on Turnpike
Parkways Authority General Manager Billy Gavan urged cutting speed limits to 65 mph on the West Virginia Turnpike with two stretches set at 60 and 55 mph. He cited recent tractor-trailer crashes and congestion, saying faster car speeds and slower trucks create danger.

Beckley car dealer Bill Earehart dies at 69
William Walter Earehart of Daniels died Tuesday night in Charlottesville after a short illness. He was 69 and a longtime community figure, serving on the Salvation Army Advisory Board for over 30 years. Survived by his wife Dorothy, three children and eight grandchildren. His family founded the Earehart car business and he led Chrysler Plymouth and Honda Isuzu operations.
