Fayetteville prosecutor questions jail impact on repeat DUI offenders
Fayette County Prosecutor Paul Blake questions whether prison deters habitual DUI offenders after Carl Hitt's seventh arrest. Hitt, convicted of felony DUI in 1994 and sentenced to 1 to 3 years, has a long history of DUI arrests dating back to 1984. Blake notes Hitt's license has been revoked since 1984 and that even lifelong confinement seems unlikely to stop him.
