Playground safety study shows many unsafe playgrounds
A Consumer Federation of America and U S Public Interest Research Group survey of 760 playgrounds in 24 states finds nine in ten have inadequate protective surfaces and hazards in swing spacing climbing heights and slides. Pittsburgh vows five year plan to upgrade 169 sites after daughter Jill died in a 1990 slide accident.
